Come learn all the In’s and Out’s regarding opening and handling Louisiana Share Accounts. Whether you are relatively new and can benefit from introduction to the basics or you’re a veteran and are ready to dive into a deeper level of knowledge of the more complex issues, LCUL has you covered.

Day One: Share Accounts Basics

Identification, Social Security Numbers, Completing Account Cards and More! 

Louisiana Share Account Basics is designed for member service representatives with under three years of experience.  This fundamentals course sets a solid foundation for account cards, state law, and federal law that accounts must operate within.  This course is open to all and serves as a wonderful comprehensive review for those with more than 3 years work experience.  

What you will learn:

  • Types of Identification and security features
  • Taxpayer Identification Numbers
  • Completing account cards 
    • 20 legal account ownerships from individual to minor accounts
  • NCUASIF Insurance 

Who should attend 

Membership Service Representatives, Tellers and beginning branch personnel

Day Two: Share Accounts Advanced

Trust, Business Accounts, Power of Attorney Documents and More! 

Louisiana Share Accounts Advanced is designed for those with over 3 years of experience.  This session focuses on the fiduciary type of accounts like successions, power of attorney’s, social security accounts, businesses and trusts.  It is designed for those who want to go to the highest levels in their share account knowledge. 

What you will learn

  • Successions and affidavit requirements
  • How to handle power of attorneys 
  • Living Trusts and other types of trusts
  • Business Accounts review and new CDD rules
  • UTMAs, social security accounts and veterans

Who should attend

Membership representatives with more than 3 years’ experience, branch managers, deposit operations, compliance and anyone who works with deposit accounts

Educational Investment 

Your educational investment for this two day workshop is $450 per student.

If you can only join us for one day of the program, each day can be purchased individually for $250 per student.

Registration cost includes all food and beverage provided valued at $40 per day.*

*Please note, due to food and beverage minimums, LCUL cannot deduct the cost from the registration fee. The value of the food and beverage is provided for those credit unions applying for grants.

In the event that minimum required registrations are not met at least 8 business days in advance of program, event may be postponed or canceled at the discretion of LCUL. All registrants would be notified promptly.
